Model Train Day - July 6th 2025
1pm-4pm

Originally created as the travelling
promotional exhibit for Lionel, the model train layouts at Moore Museum
incorporate S, O & G gauge trains. Push-button operation allows visitors to
activate the separate trains during regular museum hours.
The Moore Museum is pleased to announce Sunday, July 6 as the date for its annual Model Train Day.
Our Train Day has always provided a great family event with something to appeal to all ages. This year will be no exception.
2025 is the 80th anniversary of VJ Day and the end of WWII. The recent acquisition/donation of 30 military and 7 warship models has enabled us to use our trains to mark this historic milestone. The new models will be incorporated into some of our train layouts and static displays to provide a WWII theme.
One layout has been Anglicized to depict a fictional location in wartime Britain. Another layout will feature a miniature (1/48 scale) military museum. Out of a total of 15 trains running, 3 will have military loads.
As always, Thomas the Tank engine and one other train will be available for hands-on running by kids of all ages.
Train Day Extra Features :
This year we are delighted to welcome several extra exhibitors:
There will be an HO scale NMRA* switching layout where visitors can try their hand at shunting rail cars.
Three members of the Bluewater R/C Flyers of Sarnia will be on hand to show several of their large scale aircraft models.
The popular Triple-C Carvers of Sarnia will return with a display of their finely crafted wood carvings.
