(corner of Plank Road and LaSalle Line)
One of several toll-keepers along the Plank Road, the Smithville toll-keeper would collect the toll from travellers and then raise the wooden pole to permit them to continue. The toll-keeper’s home, 1962 Plank Road, is a private residence and is one of the two surviving original buildings in the hamlet.
