This replica fire hall was constructed by Moore Museum’s volunteer crew and opened in 2005. Built for the purpose of housing the Museum’s collection of firefighting equipment, it is faced with reclaimed brick, giving it an authentic heritage look that has caused many people to ask from where it was relocated.
It was constructed as a two-storey building to accommodate a hose tower, as well as to provide a visual reminder that many 19th century public and commercial buildings in Canada featured upper floors for use as halls and meeting rooms.
